Dr Cook Bitless Bridle, draught size – black or brown
The Dr Cook Bridle for Draught / Draft Horses – Clydesdale, Shire, Ardennes, Percheron etc
This is a beta bridle – made of a synthetic material that combines the strength of nylon with the easy care of vinyl. Beta is particularly popular since the material requires no maintenance and can be easily washed in a bucket of water or on a cool machine wash.
On this bridle the headstall (from beneath the noseband on one side to the same point on the other side) adjusts between 44″ and 55″ (117 – 145 cm) and the noseband adjusts from 23″ to 28″ (58 – 71 cm).
To check if this will fit your horse, please measure as follows
Measure 1½” to 2” (3 – 5 cm) up from the corner of the horse’s mouth. From that point, measure the circumference of the horse’s nose (noseband measurement).
From that same point (1½” to 2” / 3 – 5 cm up from the corner of the horse’s mouth), run your tape measure up the side of the face, over the poll (behind the ears) to the same point on the other side of the face (headstall measurement).
NB: Draught size is made from 1″ straps and therefore you cannot interchange any parts (browband, noseband, crossovers) with the large beta or any of the leather (English or Western) bridles.
