This delightful aromatic water is very useful in animal & human applications; especially to help with loss and grief – death of a close friend (human or animal); moving to a new yard or herd; also I have known animals who were comforted by this AW after surgery (especially neutering where they have lost a part of their body).

Since distilled aromatic waters have a much gentler action they can be used to apply a fine, comforting mist to an area.

Difference between Aromatic Water and hydrosol, floral water etc?

Aromatic Water is specifically distilled, whereas the other waters are the leftovers from essential oil distillation or even just essential oil added to water.

Aromatic waters are highly therapeutic distillates which contain the lighter essence of an aromatic plant.

Neroli / Bitter Orange (citrus aurantium amara) Flower Distilled Aromatic Water

Top quality distilled aromatic water made from citrus aurantium v. amara flower also known as bitter orange flower, the essential oil from this flower is often called neroli.

The bitter orange was first cultivated in the Mediterranean by Arab conquerors in the 10th and 11th Centuries, but it was not till 1563 that the distilled oil of the blossom (Neroli oil) is recorded by the Italian naturalist Della Porta. The blossoms were often used in weddings, as they are associated with virginity, romance and fertility. Many believe that the golden apples of the Hesperides (Priestesses of the Greek Gods) were in fact bitter orange fruits.

Like Neroli essential oil, this steadies the heart physically & emotionally but in this distilled Aromatic Water version has a gentler action. It is great for shock or steadying the nerves before a stressful event like travelling – clients of ours spray inside a horse box before loading and around the cat carrier before transporting their cats.

Neroli is also useful for separation – either being separated too early from their mother or leaving companions to go to a new home or indeed being separated by death of a companion or herd-mate.

It is anti-spasmodic too & useful for digestive issues, especially of emotional origin.
