St Johns Wort (hypericum perforatum) Infused Oil – pain relief, especially nerve pain
£10.00 – £45.00
Hypericum infused oil found to be very useful for nerve pain & depression in animals & humans
Infused oils (also known as macerated oils) are made by infusing the dried herb in a specific oil – usually sunflower or almond oil.
Infused / macerated herbal oils are widely used in applied zoopharmacognosy as well as in more general human applications (eg comfrey oil, arnica oil after injury for relief from joint & muscle pain).
St John’s Wort flowers infused in olive oil, also referred to as hypericum macerated oil. This is a deep red colour, indicating the very high quality of this oil, so a little goes a long way.
Often selected by animals for pain relief, especially for nerve pain; spayed females have selected it to be rubbed on the abdomen (interestingly neroli aromatic water has also been selected by neutered animals to be applied to the area, for different reasons).
Animals employ all modes of entry to the body: inhalation, ingestion, topical application depending on their needs. Also selected for depression, this is an uplifting oil. Some hyperactive animals derive benefit from this oil too.
Has been found to be very useful for nerve pain & depression in humans too.
Hypericum can interfere with some medications, rendering them less effective.
