Violet Leaf Absolute (viola odorata) aka Sweet Violet

An oil often chosen by animals in pain, or even anticipating pain.  This oil is traditionally thought to be comforting to the heart (note the heart-shaped leaves) and offers reassurance against the fear of something bad happening.

One of its constituents is salicylic acid, hence its use as an analgesic.
