Two Approvals in one Week!

The Non Ridden Equine Association UK

Did you know that there even is such an organisation?  I was aware of and am a member of, the Non Ridden Equine group on Facebook and thought it an excellent idea; it hadn’t actually occurred to me before that there might be a need for such a group / organisation because I have never been of the opinion that horses had to be ridden, but sadly that is the opinion of some.

Horses (not forgetting mules of course – Enrique 🥰) – all equines bring so much pleasure to so many people on so many levels – they are amazing wondrous creatures and I am so pleased that people who choose not to ride, for whatever reason, now have the support of a UK-based not-for-profit organisation.

Back in the days when we operated a bitless riding school as well as a livery yard, we regularly hosted non-ridden Equine Facilitated Learning workshops and learned to fully appreciate what amazing teachers our horses are and the depth to which they can communicate with us simple humans.

We are delighted to have been approved as a Non Ridden Equine Friendly Business for both the shop and the livery yard.

ABRS+ Certified Livery Yard

In the same week, we learned that we are an Association of British Riding Schools Certified Livery Yard – currently the only one in Wales.

It seems totally mad to me that livery yards are not currently inspected or licensed (yes that’s right – anyone can set up a livery yard!), so  the ABRS+ scheme is a step in the right direction.
